Last Chance! - Department and Student Scholarships Available

The Educational Opportunity Fund was created by the Board of Regents in 1989 to provide funding for student financial aid and community/campus service programs. The EOF committee receives proposals, conducts hearings, and prepares a budget for expenditures from the fund. The committee includes two students, the Student Body President, ASG advisor, and Dean of Students.
Departmental and Student applications may be found here: https://www.emporia.edu/getinvolved/asg/forms.html
Use of the EOF monies is limited to the following purposes:
Students
  • Academic scholarships and fellowships for both graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Need-based grants, including awards to students with special expenses such as child care, or groups of students who have been historically under-represented in higher education.
Departments
  • Salaries or grants for students participating in public and community service programs.
  • Student salaries for student services and programs, such as tutoring, daycare, and peer counseling.
If your division is interested, a written proposal must accompany requests for EOF monies using the enclosed format. The proposals must include the name of the submitting group and a brief statement outlining the reasons for requesting EOF monies.
These proposals must be submitted by this Thursday, March 1st, 2018 to Megan McReynolds, Campus Box 4065. Any questions may be directed to Megan McReynolds, asgpres@emporia.edu or by calling ext. 5494. EOF committee hearings will be held after proposals have been submitted.
