Campus Part-Time Jobs Changes

Changes to the on-campus application process are coming December 15th, 2019!

Our student feedback was clear, and we have made changes that will simplify the application for students and staff.

Beginning December 15th, on-campus job applications in Handshake will no longer require students to submit the ESU Student Employment Cover Letter and a class schedule.

The Student Employment Application is replacing the cover letter and the class schedule.  Students will be able to find the Student Employment Application in the Resource Library in Handshake.  Once the form is downloaded, saved, completed, and saved again, students will upload the Student Employment Application as an “other” document to their Handshake profiles.

For students:

  • If you have an application that is currently pending, you do not need to submit the new Student Employment Application form.
  • If you plan to apply for an on-campus job, follow the instructions in the job announcement.  All job announcements will be updated on or by December 15 to reflect the change in required documents.

For staff:

  • You should have received an e-mail from Career Services explaining the change and providing you with instructions on next steps.
  • If you have questions, please contact Career Services at 620-341-5407.

Your life depends on it! Wear your seat belt this holiday season!

Thanksgiving weekend, millions will hit our nation’s roads, eager to spend time with family and friends.  It’s one of the busiest travel times of the year, and unfortunately more people on the roadways means the potential for more vehicle crashes.  The United States Department of Transportation reported:

·       During the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in 2017, there were 365 passenger vehicle occupants killed in vehicle crashes across the nation.

·        Nighttime is deadlier than daytime in terms of seat belt use.  Over the 2017 Thanksgiving weekend, 57% of passenger vehicle occupants killed in crashes at night were unbuckled, compared to 40% during the day.

Fraternity & Sorority Life and Community Hornets want you to take the pledge to wear your seat belt this holiday season.  Stop by MU West Lobby on Monday, November 18 from 9am – 2pm to take a pledge to wear your seat belt over the Thanksgiving holiday break.  Free hot chocolate and an opportunity to win prizes!
