Dirty Kanza Academic Scholarship

Single Parent with Children Scholarship
The Single Parent with Children Scholarship assists single, divorced or widowed ESU students who are raising children and attending school simultaneously. $2000 is awarded for the academic year; half is disbursed in the fall semester and the remainder in the spring semester. Students must be a single parent with primary, sole, or joint custody of their child or children. Students are required to achieve and maintain 2.75 GPA, complete the FAFSA to demonstrate financial need, and be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours for undergraduate students and 7 for graduate students.
Students previously awarded this scholarship may reapply as long as they meet all the eligibility requirements and submit a new application.
This scholarship application is due March 2, 2018.

- Be classified as a junior upon initial receipt of the award
- Have a minimum 3.25 cgpa
- Be pursuing a secondary education degree in math or science
- Have financial need
- Be a graduate of a Kansas high school
- Submit application along with required essay of why the applicant has chosen teaching as a profession

- Be a full-time undergraduate student
- Have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
- Provide a letter of reference from a faculty member
- Submit essay (topic provided on application)
- Provide unofficial academic transcript
