On behalf of Emporia State University and the Blue Key Honor Society, we want to thank all students who attended this year's Hayes Lecture 2018 and those students who participated in the Smith Scholarship Essay Competition as a part of the Hayes Lecture. This year's pool of submissions was very strong and the review committee spent a good deal of time reviewing the essay submissions.
We are pleased to announce this year's Smith Scholarship recipients. Congratulations to Gaby Amparan, Kathryn Kienholz, Cullen Roche, Emma Dixon, and Carolina Taylor. This group of students will receive a $1000.00 Doug and Nan Smith Scholarship for Spring, 2019. Thanks again to all students who participated in this essay competition.
