Réne M. Burress Ph.D. Dissertation Research Defense

Réne M. Burress, candidate for the degree Doctor of Philosophy, Library and Information Management in the School of Library and Information Management (SLIM), Emporia State University will defend her dissertation research in a public presentation on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, 12:30 PM CT in Room 319F, SLIM.  SLIM is located in the south end of the William Allen White Library building on the Emporia, KS campus.

The title of the proposed research is The political boundedness of nurturing a democratic planning process: A qualitative case of 2017 Every Student Succeeds Act (2015) requests for school library funding.

Ms. Burress is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Library Science and Information Services program at the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, Missouri.

Dissertation committee members are: Dr. Mirah Dow, Char, Professor, Emporia State University, School of Library and Information Management; Dr. Jeff Muldoon, Member, Assistant Professor, School of Business, Emporia State University; and  Dr. Barbara Martin, Member, University of Central Missouri, Professor of Education.
