Starting on Monday, May 13, 2019, work will begin on Highland Street from 12th Avenue to 15th Avenue with two projects. The first will be at the intersection of 12th and Highland with the City of Emporia sewer line project. They will be installing new sewer lines and a man-hole over the next week. This intersection's traffic will be affected so please watch the signs and barricades. The second project will be Westar's preparation work for the electrical outage scheduled for May 19, 2019. This will affect the traffic on Highland between 13th and 15th Avenues. Please please watch the signs and barricades. This work will also take all week.
