Unique Learning Opportunity for Education Majors

Undergraduate education majors are invited to participate in a study group this fall to explore teacher self-care, civic engagement, and creating a professional teaching identity. Any education major will be eligible to be part of the group until the group fills to capacity.

The following books will be provided for each person plus additional resources, including guest-speakers and other experiences.

  *   Fostering Resilient Learners: Strategies for Creating a Trauma-Sensitive Classroom by Kristin Souers & Pete Hall
  *   Practicing Presence: Simple Self-Care Strategies for Teachers 1st Edition by Lisa J. Lucas
  *   Mindful Games: Sharing Mindfulness and Meditation with Children, Teens, and Families by Susan Kaiser Greenland

You can contract for 1, 2, or 3 hours of credit. One-hour credit will not require any work outside of the class meetings each week.

We will meet on Wednesdays from 4:00 – 5:50 in Visser Hall 243 beginning on January 15, 2020.  We will do enrollment in the course at this meeting if you have completed the application form below.
