ESU President Allison Garrett has appointed a new task force to explore the possibility of serving alcoholic beverages at MIAA football games at Emporia State University. Membership of the task force will include representation from students, staff, faculty, and the community.
Specifically, the task force will determine and evaluate any advantages or disadvantages of selling alcohol at ESU football games, what conditions or restrictions should apply, what impact may result to tailgating and other activities outside the stadium that occur before, during, and after games and ensure that all applicable laws are followed.
Similar task forces are also being created at other schools. The task force begins its work this month and will submit its report with recommendations to President Garrett by the end of the spring semester.
