Read to Succeed Volunteers Needed!

Do you need volunteer hours? Would you like to help an elementary student improve in reading? The Kansas Masonic Literacy Center is organizing volunteers to listen to 1st-5th graders at Riverside and Timmerman Elementary School in Emporia. Volunteers will listen to the same student read for 30 minutes once a week to improve the student’s reading fluency beginning February 4 and ending April 24. Appropriate level books are already selected and the volunteer listens to the student read and helps them with unknown words.

Choose a day and time that fits your schedule:

Tuesday: 8:50-9:20 am with a 1st grader at Riverside Elementary School

Tuesday: 9:35-10:05 am with a 2nd grader at Riverside Elementary School

Tuesday: 12:30-1:00 pm with a 4th grader at Riverside Elementary School

Wednesday: 8:40-9:10 am with a 2nd grader at Timmerman Elementary School

Wednesday 12:40-1:10 pm with a 4th grader at Timmerman Elementary School
