The Ethnic and Gender Studies Program is now accepting nominations for the Ruth Schillinger award. Eligibility: The Ruth Schillinger Award is presented to a member of the faculty whose contributions should be in capacities such as teaching, publishing, and service on behalf of women.
The text on the plaque reads: "The Ruth Schillinger Faculty Awards for Outstanding Service to the Women of Emporia State University is presented to (ProfX) in recognition of her/his many contributions to the lives of Emporia women."
Ruth Schillinger was a beloved faculty member at Emporia State University in the mid-twentieth century. She was also ESU's last Dean of Women. Dr. Schillinger died in 1997 and is commemorated through this annual award. The complete list of past recipients is available on the Ethnic and Gender Studies website.
Nominating materials should include the letter of nomination, the nominee's current vita, and additional letters of support that indicate in what capacity the nominee is outstanding in teaching, publishing, and service on behalf of women. Please submit all materials to the Office of Ethnic and Gender Studies, located in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, 010 Butcher, Campus Box 4024. Nominations must be submitted by 5PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Hard copy or electronic nominations are both acceptable.
