New Fall Course- Social Responsibility and Human Services Organizations

New Course Beginning Fall 2020- RE413

This 3-credit online course is an examination of the contemporary issues that affect organizations.  Essential topics include environmental stewardship, social responsibility of the organization, effects and implications of globalization, the status of individual freedom within the organization, diversity, and ramifications of technological change.  A variety of instructional methods including discussion, lecture, multimedia, and experiential learning opportunities will be utilized to assist students to develop the following competencies:

  • Explore the impact of technology on social responsibility
  • Explore the concept of diversity as a social construct in organizational contexts and recognize the varying forms of diversity
  • Apply social responsibility concepts and ethical principles
  • Identify the social responsibilities of organizations
  • Recognize the shift in thinking towards social justice and social change outcomes
  • Conceptualize the meaning of diversity inclusion
