2020-2021 James Patterson Scholarship

The New York Times #1 bestselling author James Patterson created the James Patterson Teacher Education Scholarship for teacher education majors at Emporia State University because he is “very impressed with Emporia’s Teachers College” and wants to contribute to “training the next generation of great teachers.”  He is funding one $6000 scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year.  The scholarship can only be awarded to one freshman teacher education major.

Before applying, you need to know that if any recipient of the Patterson Scholarship changes major and does not graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Education or leaves Emporia State, the student loses the scholarship AND the university permanently loses the funding for that scholarship.  Apply only if you are really strong in your commitment to become a teacher and your commitment to being at Emporia State University.

Find the Application & More Information here: https://www.emporia.edu/teachers-college/inside-education/patterson-scholarship/

The deadline to complete and submit the application is 11:59 pm, Tuesday, September 1.

I encourage you to apply for this wonderful scholarship opportunity.  Please send questions to ttcdean@emporia.edu.
