A quick reminder that the Emporia State campus will be closed from 6 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, August 11) until 6 a.m. Wednesday, August 12.
The campus will be without power during that time to complete the fix of the electrical system failure last week.
Please note this information from IT:
- All technology in campus buildings — both personal and department — should be powered off before leaving offices today. This includes workstations, printers, digital signs, etc.
- Network switches in buildings will be turned off at 5:30 p.m. tonight. This means buildings will not have access to the ESU Hornet Nation network.
All employees working on campus should not come to campus on Tuesday, August 11 and work remotely if possible.
For those working remotely, all university online systems and services (i.e. ESU Data Center, Jabber, Teams, Zoom, Banner, OnBase, Canvas, Hornet365, Email, emporia.edu, etc.) are still online and operational from off-campus as long as you have access to the Internet (and an ESU laptop with VPN to secure systems). Please note that anyone using a remote desktop connection to a campus computer will not function during the outage.
Information about time reporting has been sent to payroll designees.
Supervisors, please share this information with staff who may not use email regularly.
Thank you for your cooperation while we repair this vital infrastructure.
