The Creative Writing Program is proud to offer two annual scholarships to ESU students:
Kay Alden Creative Writing Scholarship
In honor of outstanding alumnus and professional writer, Kay Alden, this award offers one annual grant of $1500 to an outstanding Emporia State junior, senior, or graduate student who demonstrates significant talent and ability as a creative writer in fiction, poetry, drama, and/or creative nonfiction.
Jerilynn Jones Henrikson Scholarship
Named for distinguished alumnus and writer, Jerilynn Jones Henrikson, this scholarship seeks to support and empower one undergraduate English major each academic year who demonstrates financial need and who is on a teaching track or working toward their BSE.
All applications are also eligible to be nominated for the AWP Intro Journals Award.
