Your life depends on it! Wear your seat belt this holiday season!

Thanksgiving weekend, millions will hit our nation’s roads, eager to spend time with family and friends.  It’s one of the busiest travel times of the year, and unfortunately more people on the roadways means the potential for more vehicle crashes.  The United States Department of Transportation reported:

·       During the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in 2017, there were 365 passenger vehicle occupants killed in vehicle crashes across the nation.

·        Nighttime is deadlier than daytime in terms of seat belt use.  Over the 2017 Thanksgiving weekend, 57% of passenger vehicle occupants killed in crashes at night were unbuckled, compared to 40% during the day.

Fraternity & Sorority Life and Community Hornets want you to take the pledge to wear your seat belt this holiday season.  Stop by MU West Lobby on Monday, November 18 from 9am – 2pm to take a pledge to wear your seat belt over the Thanksgiving holiday break.  Free hot chocolate and an opportunity to win prizes!
