February 1 - A Thousand Words: Photographs from the Walter M. Andersen Collection

Special Collections and Archives presents the exhibit A Thousand Words: Photographs from the Walter M. Andersen Collection. Locally known as "the man with the pictures," Walter M. Andersen took and collected thousands of photos that document the history of Emporia and Lyon County. Visitors can explore highlights from the collection and compare vintage views of our town to current sights, as well as learn more about the photographic processes that Andersen used to capture the world around him. An opening reception will be held on February 1 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the exhibit hall on the first floor of William Allen White Library.
